Today we left Melbourne and drove to Phillip Island. On the island we went to Penguin parade and saw some penguins, then we went down to Yanakie, where we stayed the night at the rest area there.

| Our free camp. Erin and I were happy to have a playground to play on. We couldn't get photos of the fairy penguins but we managed to see about 8 in nests. They burrow a hole into the ground and they lay eggs, usually 2 eggs and the male and female alternate sitting on the eggs then alternate keeping the young babies warm and fed. We got to see them with babies. It was great condering you have to be there at night to see the penguins come in from the ocean. |
